Tarot by Sherita

Tarot by Sherita

My name is Sherita and I do tarot readings in Muncie. I have been a psychic since I was a child, coming from a family who had this same ability, they didn’t read cards. They just knew what was going to happen. We were of Native American, Irish and Welsh heritage. I also teach classes in tarot, Spirituality, relaxation, meditation, Raeki, and how to find your spirit guides.

I do Raeki, past live regression, seances, and try to help people find the path they need to be on. I call it “Learning to Walk Gently on Mother Earth.”

My fees are moderate, meditation is free, but in my classes I expect you to work hard and apply yourself. Mostly, I believe that you must find and walk a spiritual path to do anything that you choose to do. That path will guide you to the proper destination.

My web people are Carey and Alan Hayes who are organizing and managing the web site. I recommend that if you or your company want a web page, contact them at ------Carey is very skilled and understands both the mysteries of the Mac, Web pages and Spiritual aspects of life. She can make a Mac tap-dance. Alan is also an expert on these things. I understand only what they tell me. I follow them around with a note book and write everything they tell me to do down. As you can imagine it is very bulky by now. I call it Notes on Mac from Carey.

Until the page is completed I am going to blog on various aspects of what I do and believe to be true. Eventually, there will be a blog space, a lot of discussion, a Raeki discussion, various Spirituality discussions with meditation links. And whatever else Carey says and I think about. All that may change, so you will be continually surprised. We will also add Journaling, which I facilitate with a friend, Linda Johnson, at Danner’s Bookstore and other places.

Until then, I will blog on all the objects mentioned above and various other things that come in the course of my thinking. If you have comments or ideas for discussion or questions I would appreciate your input. I am not a computer soul, all this is, which is very new to be as is speaking my mind on a computer for all to see, ponder think I am a blooming idiot, but gentle, dear reader, I feel compelled to do this. My Spirit Guides are leading me, my Soul is on fire, and I am very irritated at the course of the world at this particular point in time. It reminds me or the Burning Times.

The Tarot

I believe in the tarot rot as an instrument of instruction from the past that enables us to deal with the present and plan for the future. I try to show how to improve your life and use all your skills, talents, fins hidden talents, explore the possibilities of change and refer you to other places that can help you. I also encourage a spiritual and religious life, prayer, meditation and encourage to find your choice of a house of worship. That may be Christian, Pagan, Native American, Inter Denominational, or something you create. I believe we all need one place to go that is a Holy Place.

I deal with practical and real issues so therefore I sometimes send people to massage therapists, counselors, doctors, parenting classes, AA, NA and new job training. I encourage you to enroll in Ivy Tech, Indiana Business College or Ball State University to achieve all the education you can so you achieve your dreams. I believe in furthering education as far as you can go.

I have taught folks to read, how to fill out job applications. I encourage people to write, be an artist and submit to the divine in themselves. I try to instruct you to lean to quiet yourself through meditation. But especially to still yourself and listen to the magic from within. Because the world, the universe is a wonderful place full of love and magic, and we are all part of it, and it is part of us. The same DNA is in the universe that exists in us and our planet. I believe that the Bible saying, “Be still and know that I am God,” is a very important part of meditation and prayer. Though this stillness we can begin to find ourselves. When I use the term, God, I mean, whatever your own interpretation of the divine is.

Tarot History;

In Alexandria, Egypt, so the legend goes, all the learned men and women would gather to talk about ideas, the scrolls they read, the teachers they heard. In time this evolved into a library of books, really scrolls. The ideas were carefully inscribed on papyrus with ink and writing tools by scribes, then rolled up on ether end to form the scrolls. The Egyptians were excellent keepers of records, events, statistics, gathering information. This grew into The Alexander Library. Shelves and shelves, stacks of stack of scrolls with all the knowledge that was gathered from the outside world into Alexander. It has been said that no library has ever rivaled it. We have no way of knowing. But the secret of its success was that anyone, who learned of a new idea, read a new scroll, book, heard a different teacher, had a different idea or concept went to the library and had the scribes took down this information, with whatever proof it was necessary to produce. Any travelers coming to Alexandra were rushed to the library to tell of the books they had read, show them if possible, to share all the knowledge they had seen, heard, read or written. Scribes dutifully took this information, and it was copied and filed. Thus went on for centuries.

Then the Roman's burned down the library. Used the scrolls to heat the water for their bath houses, so the legend goes. Which is why we don't’ know how extensive the library was. what it volume was. Can you even imagine that was lost to us today?

The people and elders of Alexandra were horrified, so they met together in a town meeting with all the people who used the library and began to figure out a system that could contain all the myths, religions, knowledge, astrology, medicine, etc. that they knew to be in the library while it was fresh, plus what had been added since the burning. They wanted this transcribed in code into something all men and women could carry with them and so always be informed and able to discern the lessons of the past and apply them to the future. They devised a set of cards that only those well versed in knowledge or could be taught from teacher to pupil and could be carried with each person. And so the Tarot was invented.

Egypt fell into hard times, people began to leave the country in droves, and the legend says they carried their cards with them. When entering the world of Europeans , who were lighter skinned, they were called gypsies, shorten from Egypt and because they had no home. They also had secret knowledge no one else had, of the past and the future.

Weather a myth or legend, it makes a good story and maybe, the most sense of how we came to have the tarot. The lesson being that so much of the past lost, a great amount of religion, country and culture has been lost to us. We automatically think that this age, this time, this place, the people we have become are the most knowledgeable and most superior. We forget how many generations of people came before us, even before the writing down of history. We sometimes dismiss this oral history as totally false. We forget that when magic ruled, other gods, other ideas, maybe even the stories of our God had an enrichment we never learned about.

We have lost a great deal of the past. The tarot puts us in touch with that magnificent history humbles us to learn from it, to study, to know that we all have wonderful heritage’s from which to learn and grow. And yet, takes nothing away from whatever religious belief we have.

The Ryder Waite deck grew out of this belief that the tarot, the past existed for us all. We should pay attention to it. It was now civilized to do the tarot. It became uptown to read the tarot. Now Europeans could divine the past and future. But the gypsies were held in more contempt than ever because someone else held their secret. While the Ryder Wait was commissioned by a man, a woman, painted the deck. In true uptown fashion she received very little credit until now.

Since then everyone has invented decks, or uses a favorite. I use the Mother Peace deck, Merlin, Naive American, Daughter of the Moon, Sacred Path and Animal Medicine and the Ryder Waite., to name a few that I use Though I have many more decks and sometimes use them. I match the deck to what my spirit guides advise me to use.

I combine; this with crystals, sometimes runes and channeling, clairvoyance, whatever I need with the help of my guides to complete a reading.

My readings are not about the tall dark stranger and happier every after unless that is what I see. If I see you need to make changes in your life style, get more discipline in your life through Yoga and meditation and even taking better care of yourself, and avoid the tall dark stranger as a very bad influence, I do not hesitate to tell you. It’s up to you to have the courage to live out the tarot cast that you receive. I am not the sweet, kind, little old lady tarot reader. I try to tell the truth as I see it.

Magic happens only when you are willing to go within yourself, listen to the Spirit that is part of all us all and connects us to the universe, the Great Spirit, that you are able to fill the love and power of that which some call God..
